Reverse osmosis (RO) treats drinking and cooking water at one faucet, usually under the kitchen sink. It removes most dissolved solids and is commonly paired with whole-home filtration and a softener for the rest of the house. These companies install RO in Collin County.

Frequently asked questions
Should I get whole-home reverse osmosis?
Rarely. RO is normally point-of-use at the kitchen sink. Whole-home RO is expensive, wastes more water, and strips the residual disinfectant from household plumbing. O'Bryan Plumbing's site covers this tradeoff.
Does reverse osmosis waste water?
Some. An RO system sends part of the water to the drain to rinse the membrane. Because it only treats drinking water at one faucet, the total is small compared with the rest of household use, and newer systems are more efficient.
How often do RO filters need changing?
Pre-filters are often changed every 6 to 12 months and the membrane less often. Exact intervals depend on the equipment and how much water you use.
